The AIP Summer Meeting Undergraduate Symposium will be held on Sunday, 3 December 2017, with additional events throughout the conference.
The event will kick off at 11:00 Sunday with presentations on various physics topics as well as on the art of making presentations, and how to get most out of attending a conference. This will be followed by a Q&A panel discussion about the PhD experience with panelist including current PhD students and previous PhD graduates now in industry or academia. The program, which runs till 17:30, will be interleaved with lunch and tea breaks and a poster session, and we end with a BBQ dinner on campus.
On the Wednesday, during the conference, we will re-convene for a lunch to discuss how the lessons from Sunday have been applied during the meeting.
Up to thirty Travel Scholarships will be available to attend the Undergraduate Symposium. These will cover flights to Sydney (up to $250, $400 for WA attendees), accommodation from Sunday 3 Dec - Friday 8 Dec (Saturday 2 - Fri 8 for WA attendees), Conference registration and $300 for associated expenses. To apply you must:
- Be a 3rd or 4th year physics students at an Australian University
- commit to attending the AIP Summer Meeting and Undergraduate Symposium
- Complete the application form below
